Know Your Blinds
This Privacy Policy explains how Know Your Blinds handles information when you use the iPhone app and its Apple Watch companion.
Know Your Blinds is a poker study and tournament decision app. It includes a preflop Advisor, ICM calculations, a Trainer, an optional AI Card Scan, an Apple Watch companion, and premium access through subscriptions or a lifetime purchase.
- We do not require account creation or sign-in.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs such as Firebase, Mixpanel, or Amplitude.
- The app sends a small, allowlisted set of product events to our Cloudflare Worker for aggregate analytics, without gameplay inputs, images, or a persistent analytics identifier.
- Most app data is stored locally on your device.
- Premium purchases are handled through Apple and RevenueCat.
- AI Card Scan sends the image you choose and a pseudonymous installation identifier to Cloudflare and OpenAI for card recognition and abuse prevention.
- Premium status is synced to the Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework.
Information We Process
Depending on the feature you use, the app may process gameplay-related values such as chip stack, big blind value, table format, position, cards, ICM player stacks and payouts, and Trainer answers.
The app stores recent values and preferences locally using Apple storage APIs such as AppStorage and UserDefaults. This includes onboarding state, free-use counters, Trainer progress, Apple Watch access state, a random AI Scan installation identifier, and a short pending queue of allowlisted product events if the analytics endpoint is unavailable.
If you use the Apple Watch companion, premium entitlement status is synced using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. The Watch stores its free-use counter and last validated premium status locally so the Hand Advisor can remain available offline after validation.
If you purchase or restore a subscription or lifetime purchase, Apple and RevenueCat process the purchase flow and entitlement status needed to unlock premium features.
Product Analytics
To understand whether the app's core flows are useful and reliable, the app sends a small, fixed set of product-interaction events over HTTPS to our Cloudflare Worker. The Worker validates each event against a strict allowlist and writes it to Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine for aggregate reporting.
An event may contain only an allowlisted event name, platform, app version and build number, build environment, and a limited source, outcome, plan category, or aggregate count when relevant. Events do not include cards, stack or blind values, table position, ICM data, Trainer answers, scan images, prices, StoreKit or RevenueCat identifiers, the AI Scan installation identifier, or a persistent analytics user/device identifier. We do not intentionally write IP addresses to the analytics dataset. Cloudflare may process network and request metadata as part of operating and securing its service.
If the endpoint is unavailable, the app keeps a short queue of allowlisted events locally and retries later. Apple Watch events are transferred to the paired iPhone as cumulative counters; the iPhone sends only the resulting aggregate event counts.
AI Card Scan
AI Card Scan is optional. When you choose a screenshot or take a photo, the app resizes and
compresses the image and sends it over HTTPS, together with a pseudonymous installation
identifier, to a Cloudflare Worker operated for Know Your Blinds. The Worker hashes the
identifier for rate limiting and sends the image to OpenAI only to identify the two visible
cards. The request is configured with OpenAI storage disabled (store: false).
The app and Worker do not intentionally retain the scan image after processing. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the API customer explicitly opts in; Know Your Blinds has not opted in. Under OpenAI's standard API controls, abuse-monitoring logs may contain customer content and may be retained for up to 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law or for service safety. Cloudflare and OpenAI may also process technical metadata according to their own policies. You can always enter cards manually instead of using AI Card Scan.

Third-Party Policies
Data Retention
Locally stored app data remains on your device until you remove it, reset it, or uninstall the app. Scan images are not intentionally retained by the app or Worker after processing; service providers may retain limited technical data according to their policies. Allowlisted product analytics events are retained in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine for approximately three months; a pending event queue remains locally only until delivery, removal, reset, or app uninstallation. Subscription and lifetime purchase records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat. Information you submit through external support is retained according to that service's policy and support needs.
Your Choices
- Stop using the app at any time
- Remove the app from your device
- Clear locally stored data by uninstalling and reinstalling the app
- Manage subscriptions in your Apple ID settings
Children's Privacy
Know Your Blinds is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
